Junior Blind of America
Los Angeles, California
Junior Blind of America helps children and adults who are blind, visually impaired or multi-disabled achieve independence..
Founded in 1953, the agency provides a broad range of services to more than 11,000 students and families each year -all at no cost to them.
While the majority of the students served by Junior Blind have vision loss, a number of them are sighted with severe and multiple disabilities. Over the years, the agency developed the expertise and capacity to serve this unique population through programs that offer early intervention, education, recreation and rehabilitation, so all students learn essential skills to help them maximize their potential and achieve their goals.
Many of Junior Blind's life-changing programs are the only ones of their kind in Southern California. The agency's services include:
• Infant & Early Childhood Program
• Special Education School
• Children's Residential Program
• After School Enrichment Program
• Student Transition & Enrichment Program
• Davidson Program for Independence
• Camp Bloomfield
• Visions: Adventures in Learning
• Vision Screening Program
